Emoly West was looking forward to her fifteenth birthday and asked her mother, Stephanie, if she could invite friends for a party. Stephanie told Emoly that she could invite guests if she would ask them to donate to Emoly's favorite charity, in lieu of gifts. Emoly invited everyone she knew, including the entire Homeschool Choir. A local high school donated the commons area and the Winter Ball was a success! The guests requested for it to be an annual event. It has grown from eighty something guests to more than four hundred, each year. Over $70,000 has been raised for Oklahoma morally based organizations in the first ten years of the Annual Winter Ball: Birth Choice of Oklahoma, Oklahomans for Children and Families, Oklahoma Conservative Political Action Committee (OCPAC), Oklahoma Family Policy Council, Character First®! and A.R.T.S. Foundation. One of our goals is to offer everyone the opportunity to attend an elegant event that is not exclusive to any age group, but rather an event that is inclusive of the entire family, just as God designed. We believe the family is the foundation of a healthy society, and we desire that children become comfortable and glean from the excitement of a formal event, while maintaining a wholesome family atmosphere, at a reasonable price, and benefiting a morally based organization.
